Referring a Family to Us

We see clients of all ages. What defines our practice is the connection to foster care or adoption, not the client's age. We work with children and teens currently in foster care, children and teens adopted from foster care, children in kinship placements, and adults adopted from foster care or who aged out of care. We also work with the foster, adoptive, kinship, and biological parents raising them. Families in foster-type arrangements are considered case by case, including informal kinship care without a court order, legal guardianship or custody outside the foster system, private and international adoption, and families in the middle of a placement change or custody transfer. If you are not sure whether a family fits, call us. We would rather answer a question than have a family wait.

• Medicaid, including Anthem HealthKeepers. 

Self-pay rates are $225 for a psychosocial assessment and $160 for a counseling hour. 

A sliding scale is available, and families are welcome to ask how it works.

We see families in person at 2484 Rivermont Avenue, Suite 203, in Lynchburg, and by telehealth anywhere in Virginia. 

Counseling is available to clients located in Virginia only.
